My opinion is that it is most désirable for all Europeans to have a change of ei - mate, after a residence of five continued years in Hongkong, and that a

Years residence in a European climate is not at all too much to recruit their health and vigour -

I am also strongly of opinion that very few Europeans can live continually in a climate like that of Hongkong without permanent deterioration of their health

and constitution, both mentally and phy_ sically-

After a residence of nearly seven years in the Soutle of China, during which time Shave been engaged in Medical practice in HongKong and Canton, Jam of opinion that all Europeans require a change to Europe after a residence of five years in Hong Kong.

Jam also of opinion, that not less than one years residence in Europe, is necessary to recruit their health after five years residence-

in this climate.

I believe that few Europeans can stand a residence of more than 12 or 15. years,

out permanent injury to their health and
